28 Days of Spiritual Alignment
A Month of Fasting & Prayer – The Refuge Church
Refuge Family, January 12 – February 8th will be our days of Spiritual Alignment. I'm calling us, not as individuals, but as a body of believers, into a season of fasting, prayer, and study. There are moments when normal activity isn’t enough, and God calls His people to humble themselves and seek Him together.

Scripture says, 2 Chronicles 7:14 (NKJV) If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

Fasting is not about starving the body; it’s about aligning the spirit. Jesus taught that some breakthroughs only come through prayer and fasting. And Jesus also gave us instructions on how to fast. He said, “When you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, so that you do not appear to men to be fasting, but to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.” (Matthew 6:17–18)
This month, there are three ways you can fast:
-
Food fast – skipping meals or certain foods and replacing that time with prayer and Scripture.
-
Media fast – stepping away from social media, TV, or entertainment to create space for God.
-
Habit or distraction fast – laying down something that consumes your time or focus and giving that attention back to God.
This is not about perfection, it’s about participation. Whatever you fast, replace it with prayer and time in God’s presence. As we draw near to Him, He will draw near to us.
I believe this season will mark us. We won’t just complete a fast, we will encounter God together.
Amen.

WHAT IS FIRST FRUITS
First Fruit giving is a biblical act of worship in which believers intentionally honor God at the beginning of each year with the first and best of what He has entrusted to them. Though we give money is bigger than money, it is about order, honor, and faith.
In Scripture, the “first” always belonged to God. Before increase was enjoyed, God was honored. First Fruit giving acknowledges that God is our source, not our supply.
“Honor the Lord with your possessions,
And with the firstfruits of all your increase;
So your barns will be filled with plenty…”
— Proverbs 3:9–10 (NKJV)
The Refuge Church warmly invites our disciples, families, and friends of the ministry to prepare a First Fruit seed to give during our First Fruit Super Sunday Worship.
This powerful gathering is a sacred moment of unified worship, faith, and obedience as we come together to honor God with our first and our best. First Fruit Super Sunday is not simply a service, it is a corporate declaration that God remains first in our lives, our homes, and our future.
Join us as we lift up Jesus, align our hearts with God’s order, and strengthen the Body of Christ through worship, teaching, and faithful generosity.
